Environmental biomarkers
Environmental Biomarkers have the potential to transform environmental assessment and management into a predictive, systems-based science. Battelle Science & Technology Malaysia serves to develop collaborations and partnerships to address biosignature discovery techniques, pattern discovery and visualization, and methods to deploy validated biomarkers-especially in large sample sets where the discovery and application of environmental biomarkers may provide early, pre-symptomatic indicators of disease and damage.
Bioremediation
Battelle Science & Technology Malaysia's network includes leaders recognized throughout the world in the areas of bioremediation, an innovative, cost-effective cleanup technology that employs microorganisms to biodegrade organic contaminants, such as petroleum hydrocarbons in soils and sediments. Our experts have developed and employed new technologies, including soil gas surveying, soil venting, in situ bioremediation, bioslurping, and TCE cometabolic bioremediation and have designed and evaluated groundwater and soil treatment systems throughout the world. With concentrated expertise in environmental restoration, Battelle Science & Technology Malaysia's experts have prepared guidance documents for military, environmental, and other U.S. government agencies, as well as cities and industries around the world.
